An Elemental Engine Kineticist mercenary (20 PB, Mythic Companion only) will beat out all but the most optimized builds (barring merged Spellbooks) on the Knight Commander. Elemental Engine 19 can carry any Legend build. It can move into basically any full BAB class, getting an additional four APR and whatever else is in the kit.

Oct 6, 2021 · I have a build in the guides section that uses psychokineticist for fire/fire. With the acolyte background it can get high persuasion for use with deadly carnage. For pure fire/fire builds there really isn't a downside to using pscyhokineticist over regular kineticist, because fire/fire doesn't care about combat maneuver bonus.

In KM, I usually let the Tiefling sisters handle any Kineticist needs for my party, but if you want your MC to sling elemental doom too/instead, go for it. The DJ Aeon build is good if you ignore summoning and focus on doing damage while shifted. I am nearing the end of Chap 5 and ending most big battles in one or two rounds. Buff with at least two geniekinds, shift to Smilodon, turn on rage for the added elemental damage on attack, turn on the attack buff gaze, and then pounce for 6 attacks.

Since the kinetic blade doesn't get any bonus dmg from STR though, a DEX build is almost certainly a better idea. Just make sure you get at least 14 STR to wear heavy armor unencumbered. You can find/buy mythril full plate fairly early in the game, so getting a decent AC with some DEX is quite possible.

Because unless you have a really unusual build almost without exception, vanilla kineticists are better. For the Dark Elementalist, you have more attributes to worry about, plus a burn cap of 3 which really gimps many of the base class features. Role: The kineticist is a skirmisher.
